About the event
Mitch Williamson is a Newcastle born saxophone player who has been studying jazz for over 10 years now. He has learnt from some of the world’s best saxophonists, including Troy Roberts, Julian Lee, and Mike Rivett.
He is accompanied by some of Australia’s finest musicians, Hugh Barrett on piano, Jacob Graham on double bass, and Alex Young on drums. This performance will feature a special guest from New York, James Sarno. James is one of the leading trumpet players in the jazz world at the moment, regularly performing with artists such as Emmet Cohen, Benny Benack III, Veronica Swift, and many more. The band will be playing a mix of classic jazz styles that will bring excitement and variety throughout the show. This is certain to be one of the highlights for Newcastle jazz lovers this year.
